5" barrel in .45 ACP caliber. Offered is a standard Colt Model 1911-A1 U.S. Army manufactured in 1944. Left side of the frame has the "G.H.D." (Guy Dewey) with "P". Right side of frame is stamped "United States Property M 1911 A1 U.S. Army" with Ordnance wheel on left side of frame. Blued barrel has three British proof stamps visible through ejection port. Right side of slide is stamped "Not English Made" as well as "Released British Govt 1952". Right side of frame is stamped with British proof twice and "Not English Made". This beautiful Lend-Lease was obviously shipped to England in 1944 and was expatriated in 1952. Retaining virtually 97-98% of the original war-time phosphate finish with short trigger, all checkered small parts with the exception of the serrated arched mainspring housing. Has the Keyes style brown composite grips with reinforcing rings. Excellent bore and action.
