Caliber .69 bore, Barrel length 44-1/4”. Offered is an original untouched U.S. Model 1795 Harper’s Ferry Flintlock musket. This musket is stamped “HF 1814” on the plate. It is a Type 3, with a Springfield Eagle on the lock, double proof marks on left side of barrel with a fine visible but not readable cartouche on the left plate. Three bands, original rod, swivels, walnut stock and iron furniture. Smooth brown deep rich never cleaned patina, excellent stocks with original finish, numbers are stamped on the bottom of the butt but are unreadable. A light hairline crack at wrist and chipping around the tang. These Muskets were standard issue in the War of 1812. This example is all original including the lock, hammer and iron pan. This is a wonderful example of what an untouched 1795 musket should look like.
