Caliber .60 smooth bore, Barrel length 7”. This Queen Anne style, flintlock, large bore, single shot pistol, was manufactured by Thomas Richards who was a gun maker in Birmingham from 1747-1784. Side plate is engraved “T. Richards”. Barrel breech has two touch marks and sports light engraving. Has a step down barrel with flared muzzle. Left side plate is engraved with military cannon and flag motif. Beautifully incised walnut stock, in excellent condition with no cracks. Tang is engraved as is ornate thumb piece. Pommel has a gargoyle face. Fine bore and action. Iron furniture is soft patina. Very fine condition, scarce 18th century flintlock.
