Caliber 7.65, Barrel length 4”. Standard configuration. Crown over “N” proof on slide. Silver-plated, engraved with exceptional deep chiseled oak leaf pattern with finely stippled background at near full coverage. Long banner on top left of slide is relief engraved “Zum 50 Jahrigen in Erinnerung an frohe Waidmannsstuden” “F. u G. Walther”. A relief death’s head and SS runes are on inset oval on top rib near front sight. Trigger, safety, magazine catch, and other small parts are fire blued, and unengraved. Hammer is case hardened in color. Plain ivory grips are inlet with gold Nazi eagle with swastika in wreath. Blued magazine has ivory extension. Also included is an extra blued magazine. Both magazine are stamped with the Walther banner. Pistol was manufactured in 1938. The English translation of the inscription refers to the remembrance of 50 happy years. Pistol is housed in brown cloth covered factory case, with green felt lining. Walther is in banner over PP on inside lid. Bottom is French fitted for pistol, magazine with extension, and cleaning rod, as well as for three cartridges (missing). Retaining essentially all of its original silver-plating, nicely toned and darkened in protected areas. Small fire blued parts retain most of their original high polish finish. Grips are very fine, showing slight wear, and show fine aging. Bore is excellent, bright and shiny throughout. Case is excellent with some minor storage wear. Interior cloth is fine with some light staining, slight rubs, and compressions from pistol. This is truly unique high condition presentation pistol given to a high ranking or very important member of the Nazi party.
