Caliber 11.25 x 36, Barrel length 7-1/4". This Dragoon size revolver was manufactured in Vienna. Invented by Leopold Gasser. The Model 1870 was issued to NCO's in combat service. The frame is marked on left side "l.Gasser, Wien" has all matching numbers, left side of frame has a unit stamp "19.LR/17." Has checkered walnut bag handles with lanyard ring. Features safety bar on right side. All metal is a brown freckled patina. Indexes perfectly, strong clean bore. Very good all original example of an early Austrian/Hungarian military horse pistol.
