Caliber 12 bore, Barrel length 26", 2-3/4" chamber, modified choke. This early model manufactured in 1940, has: full solid matted rib, single bead sight, shiny bore, 60% original factory blue starting to thin and blend to patina. Frame has 93% original high polish factory blue with game etching on both sides. Excellent original checkered walnut stocks, oil finished with pistol grip cap and black composite butt plate that does not fit well (replacement). While 37 was introduced in 1937, and very scarce to find early pre war example with the small forend and solid rib. With the addition of a proper butt plate and a small crack at top of wrist at frame, this is an excellent example. These shotguns were very popular as they were light and featured a bottom ejection system so as to be used by both the left and right handed.
