5” barrel in caliber .45 ACP. This pistol was manufactured in 1918. Offered is a fine Commercial Model Colt 1911. Right side of slide is stamped “Colt Automatic Calibre 45” with serifs. Left side of slide has the two line patent date including 1913, two line address with Colt Pony, left rear slide no circle. Has the early correct rear sight with round corners and U notch. Back of the slide is stamped “ZS”, the frame is stamped “Government Model” with serial number on right side. Has the type one checkered short spur hammer, checkered safety and slide stop, smooth main spring housing with lanyard loop, frame retains approximately 85% of original high polish factory blued finish. Thinning on straps with light takedown line, slide retains approximately 90% high polished factory finish blue. Thinning at muzzle and high edges. Has a replacement barrel with strong rifling but pitting in grooves. Has the proper two-tone tempered magazine and diamond checkered walnut grips. Overall very fine condition World War I era Commercial Colt.
