20” barrel in 12 bore. The serial number on this shotgun falls within the serial range listed in the “Complete Guide to Combat Shotguns” by Bruce Canfield. The left side of the frame is stamped “U.S.” in proper font with no serifs. Left forward side of frame has proof “P” with Ordnance Bomb. Top of receiver has a proof “P”, top of barrel has partially visible proof “P” but no bomb visible. Has 2-3/4” chamber and is proof tested. No Stevens or Savage markings. Bottom side of the barrel has the three serrated grooves for hand guard and bayonet lug (not present). Has the checkered walnut for-end with the plain pistol grip stock and typical Stevens commercial composite butt plate (proper). Stock is in excellent condition. Metal retains approximately 85% original finish which is starting to thin on high areas. “R. KHHN” etched in bottom trigger guard tang which is excellent. Bore is fine and action is perfect.
