Referred to by collectors as the "Old Wristbreaker", this sword is stamped "E.S. Mfg. Co. Chicopee, Mass. 1859". "U.S.", and inspector mark "J.H.". Has a 34-1/4" curved blade with single fuller. Has some finish loss and some nicks on cutting edge. Nickel plated steel scabbard still retains about 70% nickel, balance patina, double hangers and no dents. Has the brass handguard. Pommel is stamped "39" and "8". Leather wrapped handle wrapped in brass wire with original cord.
