25” barrel in caliber .303 British. This sniper rifle was manufactured in 1943. Dated on the left side of stock band, which is also stamped “M47”, with serial number and “TR”. Left side of frame is stamped “No. 4 MK 1 T”. Safety is stamped with a “B”. “SM” stamp on left rear sight slide. Right side of bridge stamped England. Bottom of stock is stamped “SL N 74 (crown) M/33 (crown)”. Bottom of pistol grip stamped “S51”. Bottom of floor plate stamped “B”. Has the aluminum butt plate with trapdoor. Top of stock is stamped 8535. Has the original wooden cheek piece attached. Has your standard two piece buttstock with grooved handguard. Bottom for-end of stock is stamped “S.L. 1046”. Right side of barrel at muzzle is stamped “.303 18.5 TONS”. Frame retains the majority of the original factory blue finish. The forward locking ring retains 60% original black enamel. Stock is excellent with no cracks. Excellent bore and action. Has a period green military web sling. Magazine not marked. Back of bolt is numbered to gun. Has the standard rear bridge military sight. Built-in stripper clip guide. This sniper rifle also comes with the green metal box stenciled “Rifle S39525”. Box contains an original telescopic sight No. 32 Mk III No. OS 2039A manufactured by A.K. & S 17476 1945 dated. Original mounts are stamped “16961” and “N92”. Has line and post sights with perfect optics. Bottom of mounts are stamped E9 and E10. Scope retains a nice mix of blue with patina and most of the original black enamel. Metal box has the original instructions. The original wooden crate used to house the sniper rifle is in excellent condition. Leather handles are broke (usual). Instructions are inside the box. Beautiful mid-war British sniping.
