Evans Repeating Rifle was manufactured in Mechanic Falls, Maine 1873-1879. This is a new model rifle, approximately 3,000 manufactured from 1877-1879. Features a 30" barrel, this was the largest capacity repeater of it's time, holding a 28 shot capacity, has a swivel in butt, has a walnut forend and butt stock, has a folding ladder rear sight, dove tail front, metal surfaces retain 95% of their period reapplied blued finish, walnut stocks are excellent as refinished to near mint condition. Action is fine, near mint bright shiny boars. This is unusual model that is stamped Evans Sporting Rifle on top of barrel. It is believed these were assembled with parts on hand after company entered bankruptcy.
