Here we have a very dear example of Steiff's early post WW2 Original Teddy bear. Teddy is about 7” tall measured standing, five ways jointed, and made from lovely caramel colored mohair. Her face is detailed with brown and black pupil eyes and a hand embroidered nose and mouth. She has felt paw pads. She has a decidedly pensive look to her, like she is wondering when the next meal is. She retains her original decorative ribbon as well as all of her IDs, including her button, yellow ear tag, and named chest tag. This classic and beloved design was produced from 1950-1966 in 14 sizes ranging from 10 to 100 cm overall. Condition: As noted. In clean, excellent condition. Provenance: From the collection of long-time Steiff archivist Dick Franz.
STEIFF’S EARLY POST WAR ORIGINAL TEDDY BEAR.
