.257 Roberts caliber with a 24" barrel. Manufactured in 1950. This Model 70 was produced in 1950 in one of the most popular calibers among collectors and shooters today. Standard features include hooded ramp front sight, Winchester sporting rear sight, blue finish, checkered walnut pistol grip stock, and a checkered steel buttplate. Walnut stock features the straight comb fluted butt with sling swivels, and remains in excellent condition with notation to small notch where rear peep sight was attached. Bottom of bolt is etched with matching number. Frame retains 95% of the original matte finish. Barrel retains approximately 95% original factory blue with some thinning at muzzle and a couple of rubs. Strong rifle bore. Perfect action. A total of 14,641 rifles were manufactured in this caliber that began in 1936, making it the ninth rarest of all calibers, with slightly over 2.5% of production in this caliber.
