4" barrel in .38 Special caliber. Referred to as the "Post-War Pre-Model 10", the serial number range of this gun would be September 1945 to April 1948. This revolver sports nickel finish; with gold plated hammer, trigger, ejector rod, screws, and cylinder release. The entire revolver has been beautifully engraved and sports a pair of period real Mother of Pearl grips that fit perfectly in very good to excellent condition with a couple of small chips at toe and heel. Action is fine. Strong clean bore. 98% of the period nickel plating. Some wear to gold plating. All legends are sharp as new and void of nickel. A beautiful presentation post-war Smith & Wesson.
