26" barrel in 16 bore. The Roper revolving shotgun was manufactured in Amherst, Massachusetts from 1867 to 1868 and in Hartford, Connecticut from 1869 - 1876. This is an early Amherst. This is a first model. Shotgun has a four shot carrier, 16 bore, no rear sight, single bead front sight, barrel is blued, frame is case colored, has walnut stocks, the forend has pewter fore and aft. Case colored steel butt plate. This rare shotgun has been expertly restored to as new condition. The quality of finish rivals the originals. The frame retains all the brilliant case colors that are done in a Winchester tone. The screws are done in a nitre blue. Barrel retains all of the expertly applied rust blued finish, stocks were restored to as new condition. Even the butt plate has all of the case colors and the nitre blue. Has a shiny as new bore, white bead front sight is a replacement, shotgun looks like you just walked into a gun store circa 1868.
