24" barrel in .30-06 caliber. Offered is an extremely fine condition very early U.S. Springfield Model 1903. Frame dates to 1911, barrel is dated "SA January 1910". Has all of the proper early features including dished knobs on sight with knurls and groove, early straight bolt, wide finger groove single rear stock bolt, high hump handguard, and all milled parts. Left side of wrist has the "J.F.C." cartouche (J.F. Coyle 1904-18). Has the serif "P" in circle on wrist. TE reading of '0' and an ME reading of '1'. Frame retains approximately 85-90% of the original high polish factory blue finish. Barrel is a blue-brown patina. Barrel bands retain approximately 30-40% original blue. Floorplate and trigger gaurd are patina with traces of blue. Buttplate is patina. Cartouche is near mint. Stocks are excellent to near mint with no cracks and very few dings. Overall an extremely fine pre-World War I Springfield.
