3-1/4" barrel in .44 Russian caliber. Manufactured by Merwin & Hulbert of Hopkins & Allen in the 1880s. This is the late Fourth Model with the solid barrel rib. It is often referred to as the Pocket Army as it sports the birds head skull crusher butt with black composite grips. Left side of frame has the rare Russian model stamp, indicating the .44 Russian caliber. It is a six shot, double action, folding hammer, factory nickel finish. All original and tight. Cylinder indexes perfectly single action but trigger return spring is weak. Gun is basically a grey-brown patina with approximately 30-40% factory nickel. Sharp legends. Grips are excellent. Proud rifling with usual black powder residue. Matching serial number on frame, barrel, cylinder. Nice honesty and scarce large bore pocket revolver. Popular with both lawmen and outlaws alike.
