7-1/2" barrel in .44 caliber. The Remington Model 1875 single action revolver was introduced to compete with the Colt Single Action Army. Manufactured 1875 to 1889. It was available in three calibers; the .44 Remington, the .44-40, and the rare .45 Colt. This example is chambered for the .44 Remington and would also fire the .44 Russian. This is an early model with the post front sight and lanyard ring. Sharp barrel legend. Gun retains approximately 98% of the reapplied nickel finish. Muzzle is slightly rounded. Has fibrous ivory-type stocks. Fine, tight action. Visible rifling with typical black powder abrasion. Comes in a vintage Indian beadwork fringe holster with brass studs and beaded design. Handsome Western rig. Revolver is most noted for its use by noted outlaw Frank James.
