The 48-1/2” tapered octagonal barrel in .45 caliber smooth bore. Miquelet lock with the facing parts chased with scrollwork and the lock plate indistinctly signed below mainspring. Forend of deeply chased iron panels on each side of a wood panel, iron panels chased with borders on each side and vines and anthropomorphic figures on bottom, chiseled face at ramrod entry and wooden panel with relief-carved triangles on each side of ramrod channel with left side of wooden panel missing. Single steel U-marked barrel band, probably added at a later time. Buttstock of slender section and familiar form, the comb with tubular iron bar chased with panels of scrollwork; pierced iron panels with floral scrolls forward of the trigger guard. Iron butt plate, the sides with narrow iron panels chased with repeating floral scrolls; plain iron trigger guard. Good condition with grey patina overall, stock with minor losses to wood and some wear. Some losses to scrollwork panels and some panels missing.
