6-1/2" barrel in .36 percussion caliber. Manufactured 1859 to 1868. Standard five shot, single action, percussion Navy revolver with full octagon barrel, engraved cylinder scene, brass backstrap and trigger guard, and one piece varnished walnut grips. The 6-1/2" barrel is the rarest barrel length with this revolver. This is a Series Three with matching numbers on barrel, frame, trigger guard, backstrap, and cylinder. Cylinder is missing one nipple. Grave panels are excellent. Strong legend on top of barrel. Barrel, frame, and cylinder are basically a gun metal grey. Wedge is a modern replacement. Traces of silver plating on trigger guard. Someone has kill-notched the entire trigger guard, front strap, and rear strap. Original grips are very good with a repaired crack on left side and numerous dents on bottom. Cylinder rod is also numbered to gun. Bore has black powder corrosion. Cylinder does not index.
