This lot consists of two Staffordshire pottery plaques, both depict a man atop of a horse- one a solider and the other a gentleman. The plaque of the solider, appears to have his horse in full gallop. This figure is dressed in a blue uniform including his feathered helmet. The other gentleman sits atop of his horse and dons a blue embellished hat to match his coat and riding boots. His green vest matches the saddle pad that he sits upon, in color and design. In the background of the gentleman’s plaque, are buildings amongst nature. Both plaques consist of a green background with brown flecks and a yellow landscape. The figures both sit on top of brown horses and don blue clothing with yellow embellishments, however the gentleman rider has green embellishments added. On the lower left of the gentleman’s plaque, the signature “Elliott” is stamped. Overall, both plaques including the frame are approximately 11 x 11-3/4 inches. The plaques themselves are approximately 7-5/8 x 9-1/2 inches. Overall the plaques are in good condition. The frames appear to have had some wear to them. On the back of the soldier plaque, the tape has been cut and is ripping. The back of the other plaque has a Staffordshire Pottery pamphlet tapped to it and a Watson & Co sticker from Salisbury. The tape on the back of that plaque is also ripped. The cloth on the front of the frames also has some wear to them.

Condition: (Good - Very Good).
