Circa, early 20th century, the Kestner firm produced a variety of character children with the 170-180 numbers in three various sizes..12", 15" and as in this example 18". Marked on rear of head "185" Made in Germany. Nice even bisque coloring with brown painted eyes and a closed mouth with molded teeth. Dressed in a sailor outfit, matching straw hat, layers of underwear and her original blonde mohair wig with plaster pate. She is on a fully jointed German unmarked composition body. Overall condition is very fine with no damage, scuffs to bisque head and body shows some minimal wear to original finish.
