This two handled stoneware crock has a grayish mottled base color, with a floral motif painted in dark blue glaze. On either side of the crock, a hint of blue glaze is visible where the handles are attach to the body of the crock. Towards the base of the ware, the coloring gets a shade or so darker than the rest of the body of the crock. The interior of the crock is glazed a dark reddish brown. This piece has a flat base and is approximately 11” tall and 9-½” at its widest.Overall the crock is in good condition, however there are inconsistencies in the clay and in the glaze. The floral motif is done in a very dark blue glaze and appears to be painted on with a heavy hand. The top is worn of the glaze in places. There are some places where there are chips, nicks, pits kiln marks are present. At the top of the crock there is a yellow substance around the lip and drips down the front of the crock towards the floral motif on the front.
