Beautiful large piece of brown gold quartz atop the knob, gemstone style facet cut. Some cracks in quartz, one small chip. Presentation "Presented to L.A. Birdsall Supt. U.S.B. Mint by his friends Wm. M. Lee & John Finer, H.H. Lawrence & George J. Lee, December 25th, 1854", alternating panels finely floral engraved. Some dents and one hairline split in the yellow gold. Rosewood shaft; replaced German silver tip with steel end.
