Steel two-stage smoothbore barrel stamped at breech with a star proof, encircled “US’ and Eagle’s head. Flintlock marked “HARPER’S/FERRY/1819” vertically on tang and stamped with an Eagle over “US.” Brass furniture and two-piece patchbox. Front two ramrod ferrules steel. Walnut half-stock. Very good condition. Barrel with brown finish with areas of light pitting and dark spots. Lock reconverted and blued with some wear to tail of lock. Brass with mellow patina. Stock is very good with one crack forward of the triggerguard extending into forend, some damage around barrel wedge, and a few scattered marks from use.
