A nice example of a late 1800`s – early 1900`s French automata by the Leopold Lambert firm. A young lady standing atop of a velvet covered base(contains mechanism & music box) with a basket in her left bisque hand. Upon activating the mechanism her head lifts and turns, the right bisque hands lifts in a beckoning manner all while the left hand lifts basket lid which conceals a bird that twirls about. The clothing, if not original, is certainly vintage with typical uniform wear, fading and some fabric distress. The closed mouth bisque head is marked Tete Jumeau 4, fine quality bisque however a hairline running along the mold line on the left side(small chip to bisque at crown as well). In functional condition with great appeal!
