A nice all original example of an early French automata. When the mechanism is activated the maiden lifts her head(wire broken and needs to be re-attached), raises her left hand which opens the cage allowing the mouse to scurry about the table then returning to his cage all while the maiden taps the table with the pointer in her right hand. The bisque head appears to be free of damage but cork pate glue tight at crown and the closed mouth bisque head is marked E.1 D(E.D. for Jumeau). Clothing is original with typical age wear, dustiness and some splitting. Overall a nice example in working order(cage door needs minor adjustment so that it drops into place).
