Manufactured in 1862. Has the early Hartford address. Matching numbers on frame, barrel, loading lever, wedge, trigger guard and backstrap. This revolver saw little to no use during its period of issue. The frame retains 75% original case color, quite brilliant on left side but dulling on right. Cylinder retains approximately 50-60% original factory blue, balance plum, with a 100% perfect stagecoach cylinder scene. Barrel retains approximately 70% original high polish factory blue with balance simply blending plum and razor sharp edges and legends. Dark case colors on loading lever. Original one piece walnut grips retain virtually all of the original varnish. Trigger guard and backstrap retain approximately 80% of the silver finish. All screw heads retain most of their original Nitre blue. Near mint, strong rifled bore. Comes in a period walnut case with an original Colt two cavity brass bullet mold, Colt American eagle copper flask, cap tin and fire blue nipple wrench. A beautiful high condition cased early Civil War 1849 Colt.
