Dated 1871. Top of the lid is inlaid with piece of grey gold quartz, and front is inlaid with piece of grey gold quartz from the same mine. Quartz slab on front is 1-5/8" high. Rest of match safe is profusely engraved with floral and geometric designs. Inscribed on back "A.R. Thompson August 23rd, 1871". In fine condition overall.
