The Astra Model 900 was basically a contract Broomhandle Mauser pistol; this particular example is extremely rare. Astra marked about 1,300 pistols with Chinese characters that translate to "Made in Spain" from serial numbers 26501 to 26700 and 26805 to 27899. These guns were manufactured for the Japanese-Chinese trade but most were delivered to the Euzkadian in 1937. An identical pistol can be found on page 361 in the book of Astra Firearms by Leonardo Antaris. For all intents and purposes it is a standard Model 900 with the flat side, cone hammer, blued finish, and 12 groove walnut grips. This pistol remains in nearly new all original condition, retaining 99.5% of the original factory blue finish with all the Nitre blue on small parts and is simply unimprovable in both rarity and condition.
