Manufactured by the Royal Arsenal at Erfurt, Germany for German forces, these were produced from 1910 to 1913. This example was manufactured in 1912 and is dated on chamber. Pistol has all matching numbers except grips and magazine. Stamped numerous places with Imperial German proof and acceptance marks. Toggle is stamped "Erfurt" with crown. Checkered walnut grips are stamped with numerous numbers and inspector stamps, none of which correspond with serial number. The wood bottom magazine is No. 5246. This gun has seen use and holster wear, retaining approximately 75% original finish with all the usual thinning from holster wear and grip straps. Fine bore and action. Comes in an original brown holster dated 1911 with loading tool. Holster is in excellent condition. This is a solid example of a very early pre-World War I military Luger with original rig.
