(A) Early Pre - War Ithaca Model 37 12 bore Pump Action Shotgun. Made in 1938 - 1940. Takedown. This model was introduced in 1937 with a roll die decorated receiver designed by William McGraw. This shotgun has the plain barrel, single bead sight. Frame retains approx. 95% original factory blue with some minor age spotting. Barrel is a mix of blue and brown patina with some thinning. Excellent, original walnut hand checkered pre - war pistol grip stock. Has the black composite pre - 1940 unmarked buttplate. Featured on Page 28-29 in The Ithaca Book by Snyder. Mirror bore and perfect action. (B) Ithaca Model 37R 20 bore. Shipped July 2, 1947. The R Series was introduced 1938. Features a full solid rib, hand checkered walnut stock, has the Ithaca stamped buttplate (post 40), hand checkered walnut stock, grooved forend, has the roll die scene on frame. Retains virtually all of the reapplied blue finish, probably done at time that polychoke was installed. Pump arm does show some wear. Stock excellent. Fine bore and action. Nice, early post war 20 bore. (C) FIE 20 bore. Pistol grip cap, checkered hardwood stock, double triggers, scalloped boxlock action, standard ejectors, beaver tail forend, single bead rib, barrels have some age freckling at breech otherwise retain 90% of original finish. Mirror bores, tight as new lock up. Buttplate does not fit too well.
