The Winder Musket was named after the famed Marksman, Colonel C. B. Winder and featured a Lyman receiver sight made in .22 caliber. These were made around the time of the First World War, but there is no exact production date. It is standard in all respects; with full round barrel, single barrel band with swivel, walnut forend with grooves, walnut buttstock with carbine buttplate, sling swivels, blued finish, and has the special Lyman sight made for this gun. Frame retains approximately 75% original blue mixing with patina, starting to come through the finish. Barrel is basically a brown-blue-grey patina with some age spotting. Wood is very good to excellent. Has one sliver off of the right side of the forearm, otherwise proud to metal. Perfect action with a fairly clean, strong bore.
