Manufactured 1915. Standard U.S. Army issue pistol from 1915. Right side of slide stamped "MODEL OF 1911 U.S. ARMY". Let side of frame has pony sans circle at left rear. Left side of frame is inspector stamped "G.H.S." (Gilbert H. Stewart 1915-1918). Has all proper parts, correct front and rear sights, checkered wide spur hammer, checkered slide stop and safety, long smooth trigger, smooth backstrap, lanyard loop magazine, and diamond checkered walnut grips. Left side of frame stamped "UNITED STATES PROPERTY". This gun is basically a soft blue-brown-grey patina with 20% original blue on frame. Razor sharp legends. Has an "SP" blued replacement barrel. Fine bore and perfect action. Comes with a World War I tan web belt dated 1916 "R.B. Co.", matching stamped U.S. military period holster, magazine pouch, and two extra period magazines. Overall, nice, clean attic-find early gun.
