A nice folk-art carved shotgun. Side-by-side smoothbore steel barrels with back-action percussion locks decorated with stamp engraving. Engraved steel mounts and walnut half stock with checkered wrist and featuring an Indian with a detailed head dress of feathers and a serious expression. Realistic black and white glass eyes. Relief carved cheek-piece on left side of buttstock with area behind it carved with feathering and stained dark brown. Indian and wrist are also stained dark brown. Probably Belgian imported and carved in America. Good condition, metal shows significant wear with light spotting overall and one hammer replaced. Stock very good, showing some heavy wear, cracks, and minor losses. Carved Indian showing great detail and no damage.
