This rifle was shipped on June 1, 1894. It is listed as a standard octagon rifle .45-70. Features full octagon barrel, full magazine, Winchester sporting front sight, Winchester folding ladder rear sporting sight, tang sight, blued finish with case colored frame, lever and hammer. Barrel and tube retain approximately 90% original factory blue finish with razor sharp edges, sharp legends, and a soft brown patina coming up through the blue, but it does not take away the shine. Does have a few typical age freckles. Forend cap has traces of case colors. Balance mixing with brown patina. The frame retains most of its case colors with the exception of the base that has greyed out. Strong colors on sides of lever and hammer. 80% thinning bright blue on loading gate. Bolt has nearly all of its original blue. Wood is excellent, proud to metal with no cracks. There is a little chip at the bottom of the toe so it is slightly shy to buttplate, but can be easily fixed. The buttplate itself has turned from patina to gun metal grey. It has a fine bore and perfect action. A stellar example of a case colored 86 in the popular .45 caliber with tons of condition.
