This 20" bear, circa 1920's, was made by the Gebruder Bing Company of Nuremberg, Germany - one of the country's most celebrated creators of mechanical and plush toys. The taupe colored mohair teddy has glass eyes, excelsior stuffing, a characteristically long snout and a strong presence. The Bing company was a formidable competitor of Steiff until it closed in 1932.
