Manufactured 1869. Typical Richard's Navy conversion revolver to fire .38 rimfire cartridge. There is no cylinder gate and cylinder has no traces of scene, but the number "179" matches barrel and frame. The brass trigger guard and back strap are numbered "182867". The ejector rod assembly is missing and can easily be replaced with a reproduction. All metal is a grey patina with brown age spotting with some brazing metal near the front sight. Barrel address is only partially readable. Walnut grips have small brad decorations. "U.S." and horse head on left and a fish on right grip. Homemade saddle ring installed. Indexes fine with a strong rifled bore. Includes a period leather flap holster. With a little bit of work and an ejector assembly, this would make a great early conversion.
