Factory letter states this pistol shipped December 29th, 1894, to Tikata & Co. in Yocohama, Japan; Agents for Japanese Government. It was shipped with a 6 - 1/2" barrel, blue finish, butt swivel, and checkered hard rubber grips. The gun is currently nickel finished that appears to be factory, with no rounded edges or feathering. Grips are excellent and not numbered. Case colored hammer and trigger guard with strong colors. Serial number is stamped two places on butt. Revolver has lanyard ring. Retains about 75% period nickel finish, balance soft patina. Cylinder shows no signs of burn. There is no star, so if it was factory refinished it surely does not show, and could simply be an error in the finish column. Indexes and locks up fine with a strong, clean bore.
