Important letter from Cassius Clay to the British Boxing Board of Control in June of 1966 making application to use the name Muhammad Ali in conjunction with the Brian London bout scheduled in August of the same year. The world was still calling Muhammad Ali Cassius Clay at the time even though he had changed his name two years earlier. This is the only request ever seen in an attempt to address Clay as Muhammad Ali. Signed at the bottom in black ballpoint pen Muhammad Ali (7 out of 10). Interestingly under the signature is "Muhammad Ali a/k/a Cassius Clay Jr". The document is framed with a cover from the fight as well as small poster and an envelope. Professionally framed and measures 29"x 22". Provenance: Ronnie Paloger Collection. Accompanied by a letter of opinion from Craig Hamilton and a JSA Letter of Authenticity regarding the signature.
Item Dimensions: 29" x 22".
