U.S. MODEL 1860 NAVAL CUTLASS BY AMES.

Slightly curved blade with single fuller on each side. Ricasso on right side dated 1862 and left side marked "made by / AMES MFG CO / CHICOPEE MASS.". Standard Model 1860 two piece brass guard fastened with brass rivets. Black leather wrapped wood grip and brass pommel. Complete with black leather scabbard. Very good condition overall; blade retains a smooth, brown patina and has a few minor nicks on edge. Guard and hilt retain a mellow, unpolished patina with a few light marks from use. Grip has some minor losses to surface. Scabbard very good with some light crazing and minor scuffs.
