This U.S. Springfield M1 Garand features an extremely rare June 1937 to June 1938 first year production gas-trap style Type I Springfield frame. Unfortuneately this rifle was rebuilt during the Korean conflict. The barrel is a Springfield Armory January 1951 barrel date, later DRC rear sight, and bolt is stamped "D2828T-12SA", heat code "S-04". Walnut stock has the 3/8" DOD cartouche on left side. "P" on wrist. Parkerized finish. TE reading: 3. ME reading: 2. Retains a majority of the arsenal reapplied parkerized finish. Stock is excellent with minor dings. Beautiful shooter as is, or a great frame if you're rebuilding a rare Gas Trap Model.
