Comprising: A) Model 1860 staff and field officer's sword by Charles Naylor of Philadelphia, blade etched "Frank Spear" and marked for Patriotic Order of the Sons of America. Complete with scabbard. Gilt brass hilt with eagle on guard. Very good condition, overall, with some light marks. B) Model 1860 staff and field officers sword for recognition of Civil War service. Straight diamond section blade etched "S.V." on one side with shield inscribed "1861-65" and a portrait of General Robert E. Lee, ricasso marked by William Read & Sons of Boston, Mass. The other side has an etched soldier with a musket and patriotic eagle. Cast brass guard has an eagle with soldier on each side, flags, and arms motifs. Complete with scabbard. Blade excellent with a few minor spots of freckling, brass retains a dark patina, scabbard has some losses to paint. A very unusual and decorative example. C) Early 20th century Model 1850 Naval Officer's sword. Straight etched blade with "U.S.N." with a fouled anchor on one side and a shield and fouled anchor on the other, ricasso marked with "PROVED" in a star on one side and "BERNSTEIN/BROOKLYN N.Y." on the other. Gilt brass standard 1850 hilt, pierced and with "U.S.N." on front of guard, shagrin grip wrapped with braided brass wire. Complete with black leather scabbard with gilt brass mounts. Blade excellent with all of original polish, mounts retain about 90 percent gilt finish with some wear to scabbard mounts. Leather has some losses to finish.
