The scarce Colt King Cobra first appeared on the market in 1986. The 2 - 1/2" barrel was only offered from 1989 to 1994 and the 2 - 1/2" blue Colt King Cobra was offered in 1990 to 1991 only, making them a very short production gun. The only King Cobra rarer than a 2 - 1/2" barrel is the 8" barrel. An identical gun can be seen on page 254 - 255 in the book "Seven Serpents" by Brown. This revolver features red ramp front sight, adjustable rear sight, wide target hammer, smooth trigger, blued finish, six shot, double action with black rubber grips with gold medallion. The Cobra had a solid rib and underlug with white line rear. These are so scarce it is nearly impossible to find a price comparison and would be a prize for any Snake collector. CORRECTION: An identical gun can be seen on page 254 - 255 in the book "Seven Serpents" by Brown
