London 1752, William Shaw & William Priest, with a pear shaped body cast and chased with fruiting grape vines, the domed foot and lid similar, the two C-scroll handles with dog's-head leafage caps, the lid with a cast lemon finial; the inside rim of the foot engraved "To George Marquiss of Huntly from Eric Lord Reay 1805". On a later wood plinth with an engraved plaque. Gilding renewed; repair to bottom of body. Height 16-1/2". Weight approx.: 114 ozt. From the Ray Bentley Collection.
