These percussion Navy revolvers were converted to cartridge model by use of the Thuer system. Matching serial numbers can be found on frame, barrel, trigger guard and backstrap. There is no visible cylinder scene. It appears that the whole gun has been cleaned. There is some corrosion on the left side of the frame. The octagonal barrel has a London barrel address but British proofs have been cleaned off. No visible plating on backstrap or trigger guard. Original walnut grips are excellent. Indexes and locks up correctly. Strong bore with usual abrasions. Any Thuer conversion is scare and this example has a very homogeneous visual appeal; cleaned and polished.
