Chambered for the .303 British cartridge with a 22" carbine length barrel, blade front sight, ladder adjustable rear sight, three-piece American walnut stocks with carbine barrel band retainer, hand guard and carbine style buttstock with trap provision in buttplate for cleaning rods. Mounted on left side of receiver with saddle ring for mounted carry. The carbine variation of the 1895 Winchester are frequently found in very hard used condition. They where short handy carbines in high velocity hard hitting cartridges. This example is a very good example with a very fine bore with sharp rifling and shiny lands. The mechanics are in proper munitioning order and the overall condition is quite nice. The barrel retains over 80% thinning blue finish with the majority of loss at the muzzle end. Receiver is a mellow patina with traces of the factory blue finish in protected areas. Integral magazine retains the same amount of patina and blue in protected areas. The wood stocks are very good as having had an additional coat of contemporary finish applied in the more recent past.
