Features round barrel with sporting front sight, elevator adjustable rear sight and Winchester two line barrel address on barrel top; chamber marked "38 WCF", two piece straight grained American walnut stocks with crescent butt with trap for cleaning rods; blue and case color finishes. Very good condition overall with over 40% thinning blue finish remaining on receiver with balance turning an even patina. Barrel and magazine have a slight amount of surface pitting at muzzle end. Factory applied blue finish has turned a chocolate brown with traces of blue finish in more protected areas. Case colors on hammer and lever have darkened but traces of color are evident in the more protected areas. Bore is very good with slight darkness in grooves. Mechanics are crisp and in proper functioning order. The two piece walnut stocks are very good with no cracks or material loss. Varnish is very good with very slight losses at high points from storage and use. This is an extremely nice original 1873 rifle with no evidence of having been cleaned or worked on. Truly a fresh to market antique Winchester.
