Barrel with ventilated heat shield,"P" proof and Ordnance bomb at rear of barrel;five round magazine capacity. Blue finish overall with receiver marked Model 620 on left side with U.S. and small Ordnance bomb proof towards front of receiver. Serial numbers are found at loading port on bottom of receiver as well as in rod channel on barrel extension. Two piece American walnut stocks with hard rubber buttplate equipped with sling swivel. Smooth forearm with no grasping grooves. The Model 620 Stevens is one of the least common of the United States Military issued trench guns with a total production of 12,174. These guns saw extensive World War II use and then again used through the Vietnam conflict. They where made as rapidly and as cost efficiently as possible. They have only a secondary polish prior to bluing and the wood was rather plain and just oil finished. The Model 620 is capable of being slam fired. Just hold the trigger to the rear and pump the action until all five rounds have been fired. Very good condition with over 90% original finish remaining. Slight finish loss is evident at muzzle and on magazine tube from operation. The bayonet lug has an area of finish loss caused by earlier corrosion. A slight amount of edge wear is evident on corners of the receiver. The two piece wood stocks are very good with a very small repaired crack being evident at wrist. Otherwise the stocks are excellent. Complete with a cotton M1 sling with indiscernible date.
