Matching numbers on barrel, loading lever, cylinder, frame and backstrap. Martially inspected "B" on left side of frame, cylinder, loading lever and bottom of both grip panels. "H" on left side of barrel and frame. Right side of frame and barrel are inspector stamped "B". "ROGERS & SPENCER UTICA NY" on top of frame. Left grip has cartouche "R.P.B." for Robert P. Beales. Approximately 5,800 revolvers were manufactured 1865; 5,000 under U.S. contract November 1865 delivered April 1865. Features six shot, single action, octagon barrel, blued finish, walnut grips. The majority of these revolvers were delivered too late to see any rela action and as a result, most were sold as post-war surplus. This revolver retains approximately 75% of the original factory high polish blue finish with the exception of the trigger guard and straps which are grey patina. Balance of finish is light brown patina. Walnut grips have a few chips but are otherwise excellent with a near perfect cartouche. Near mint bore. Indexes and locks up correctly. Extremely handsome, lightly used Civil War period revolver with lots of original finish.
